Two US service members have been killed and one is missing in motion, US Central Command introduced Saturday, marking the primary American army deaths in the Iran war since March.
“On July 17, two U.S. service members in Jordan were killed in action as U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) and partner forces defended against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks. Additionally, one service member is currently missing in action,” CENTCOM mentioned in a social media post.
Four further American service members have been medically evacuated to hospitals in Jordan however have since been discharged, based on CENTCOM. Other personnel sustained minor accidents and have returned to obligation.
CENTCOM mentioned it would withhold the identities of the fallen troopers till 24 hours after their subsequent of kin are notified.
