Roast chicken has long been a staple of home cooking, offering a delicious and satisfying meal that can be enjoyed in various ways.

However, not everyone has the time to devote to traditional oven-roasted chicken, which can take up to an hour or more to cook, especially on busy weeknights like Tuesdays.

As a result, many people are seeking alternative methods for cooking roast chicken that still yield great results but require less time and effort.

Toaster ovens have become an attractive option for cooking roast chicken due to their efficiency and speed. This is because they use a similar design to full-size convection ovens but on a smaller scale. As a result, toaster ovens heat up and cook food faster than traditional ovens.

The compact size of toaster ovens also means that the powerful fan can circulate heat evenly throughout the cooking space. This even heating helps to achieve crispy skin without drying out the meat. The cooking time is significantly reduced compared to using a full-size oven, making it an ideal option for those with busy schedules.

To roast chicken in a toaster oven, preheat the appliance to 400°F. Meanwhile, pat the chicken dry with paper towels and season it inside and out. Place the prepared bird on a baking sheet specifically designed for toaster ovens and cook for 40 to 50 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.

The toaster oven method for cooking chicken is gaining popularity among chefs due to its speed and ability to produce tender meat.

A smaller baking sheet used in this process is also a convenient feature, as it's often easier to clean and may even be dishwasher-safe, making kitchen maintenance more efficient. Lizzy Briskin, a culinary expert with a degree in the field, has made the switch from traditional oven roasting and now uses her toaster oven for cooking chicken several times a month.
