President Donald Trump attacked NCS’s Kaitlan Collins at Friday’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner — claiming she “never smiles” and evaluating her to trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
Roughly 10 minutes right into a wild, rambling tackle, the president mockingly saluted Collins — who was presented an award from the White House Correspondents’ Association.
“I want to personally congratulate NCS’s Kaitlan Collins on receiving her award,” Trump mentioned. “It was all about me. It was a fake, she shouldn’t get the award, it was a fake. But I didn’t mind. I said, ‘Kaitlan, congratulations.’ But it was fake, there’s no question about it. But she’s a young, attractive woman. She never smiles. I said, ‘Kaitlan do you ever smile? Smile!’ You have a nice position, you’re at NCS fake news. You should be a happy person. So smile, Kaitlan! Just smile.”
The president went on to evaluate Collins to Mulvaney — who gained nationwide consideration for being featured in a promotion by Bud Light.
“I thought Kaitlan had really made it big with a major new sponsorship,” Trump mentioned. “But then I informed her that it wasn’t her on the Bud Light can, it was Dylan Mulvaney.”
The president went on to assault Mulvaney as effectively.
“Dylan Mulvaney cost Bud Light $35 billion in market cap,” Trump mentioned. “That was the worst commercial ever made, by the way, for those few people that want to hear that. Most people don’t care, but I would. I wouldn’t want to hire Dylan anytime soon. Think of it. They hired Dylan Mulvaney, and their market cap has gone down by $35 billion. Who wrote that commercial?”
In a press release offered to Mediaite, a NCS spokesperson mentioned, “Kaitlan Collins is an exceptional, trusted journalist being honored tonight for her depth of knowledge and the context she provides to audiences all over the world.
