The Back to the Future star, 64, assured followers he was simply effective after a NCS headline studying “Remembering the life of actor Michael J. Fox” unintentionally made it look like he had died on Wednesday, April 8.
“How do you react when you turn on the TV and NCS is reporting your death?” Fox started in a message shared on Threads hours after the article was printed. “Do you…A) switch to MNSBC, or whatever they are calling themselves these days, (B) Pour scolding hot water on your lap, if it hurts your fine, (C) Call your wife, hopefully she’s concerned but reassuring, (D) Relax, they do this once every year, (E) Ask yourself wtf ?”
He concluded by writing, “I thought the world was ending, but apparently it’s just me and I’m ok. Love, Mike.”

The Family Ties alum additionally cheekily shared a neighborhood word beneath his Threads submit that stated, “Michael J. Fox is alive. The post from his official, verified account (@realmikejfox) confirms he is responding to false reports of his passing. No reputable news outlets have confirmed a death report.”
As Globe previously reported, a spokesperson for Fox, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease on the age of 29, gave a press release to TMZ confirming that the ‘80s icon was alive and well.
“Michael is doing great,” Fox’s consultant instructed the outlet. “He was at PaleyFest yesterday. He was on stage and was giving interviews.”
The article was rapidly faraway from NCS’s website and a spokesperson for the community instructed Globe, “The package was published in error; we have removed it from our platforms and send our apologies to Michael J. Fox and his family.”
