THE Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) is inviting excellent highschool students doing space research to ship entries to the PhilSA High School Research and Innovation Award to Yield Advancement in Space Science and Technology, or PhilSA HiRAYA.
PhilSA is the nation’s company that plans, develops and promotes the nationwide space program consistent with the Philippine Space Policy.
The title HiRAYA is derived from the Filipino phrase “hiraya,” which interprets to “vision” or “the fruit of one’s hopes and dreams.”
PhilSA HiRAYA can be conferred on scholar researchers taking part within the Department of Education’s Regional Science and Technology Fair (RSTF) and National Science and Technology Fair (NSTF), whose research aligns with PhilSA’s key improvement areas. CONTRIBUTED IMAGE
The award displays PhilSA’s dedication to nurturing the following era of Filipino scientists, researchers and innovators who will contribute to the expansion of the nation’s space economic system.
PhilSA HiRAYA can be conferred on scholar researchers taking part within the Department of Education’s Regional Science and Technology Fair (RSTF) and National Science and Technology Fair (NSTF), whose research aligns with PhilSA’s key improvement areas.
These areas embrace nationwide safety and improvement, hazard administration and local weather research, space research and improvement, space trade and capability constructing, space training and consciousness, and worldwide cooperation.
“I’m excited to see the works of our student researchers and award HiRAYA for the first time, recognizing the ingenuity of our high school students and their future contributions in shaping our space ecosystem,” PhilSA Ad Interim Director General Gay Jane Perez, PhD, stated, emphasizing the significance of cultivating research capabilities of students in space.
“The next breakthrough in space technology, or even the country’s next satellite, may come from these young researchers. Through initiatives like HiRAYA, we hope to cultivate a stronger culture of learning, innovation, and scientific excellence among the next generation of Filipinos.”
Eligible research subjects embrace, however usually are not restricted to, atmospheric science, local weather science, astronomy and cosmology, management concept, distant sensing, machine studying, and different associated fields that contribute to the development of space science and know-how.
Through HiRAYA, PhilSA goals to encourage larger curiosity in space research amongst highschool students whereas fostering future collaboration between younger researchers and the Philippine space sector.
Entries can be evaluated by a panel of judges from PhilSA primarily based on relevance to the company’s key improvement areas, creativity, scientific and engineering thought, research thoroughness, research abilities and readability of presentation.
One research venture per area can be acknowledged at RSTF, whereas up to three awards can be conferred on the NSTF degree.
Awardees will obtain money prizes with certificates and plaques of recognition.
