A strong earthquake struck close to the northern coast of Venezuela on Wednesday, resulting in collapsed buildings within the capital, Caracas. The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 7.5, in keeping with the US Geological Survey (USGS). It occurred simply 40 seconds after a foreshock with a magnitude of 7.2 rocked the realm.
