President Donald Trump stated Thursday that Intel has struck a deal with Apple to begin producing pc chips within the United States.
“I decided to help Intel because we need to design and build our Chips right here in America,” Trump wrote in a social media publish on Truth Social.
Shares of Intel (INTC) spiked greater than 9% in premarket buying and selling. The firm declined to remark.
The transfer will assist Apple diversify its manufacturing base. The California-based firm largely depends on Taiwan to fabricate the processors that energy its iPhones, iPads, and Mac computer systems.
