American Airlines flights have resumed after a nationwide floor cease was issued for lower than an hour Tuesday night due to an IT outage, the airline stated.
“A technology issue briefly impacted connectivity for some of our systems on Tuesday evening. Systems are coming back online now and flights are departing again,” American Airlines stated in a press release on X.
While it was not instantly clear what prompted the outage, the airline stated a brief floor cease was put in place whereas groups labored to resolve the difficulty.
“We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience,” the airline stated.
The floor cease, issued round 6:30 p.m. ET, got here throughout an unusually sturdy storm that’s transferring via the Northeast via Tuesday evening and will drop greater than a month’s price of rain in components of the area.
