WASHINGTON (TNND) — The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected to hear former Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz’s defamation case against NCS.
Dershowitz alleged within the lawsuit that NCS defamed him due to statements he made throughout President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial in 2020.
Justices Neil Gorsuch and Clarence Thomas dissented from the court docket’s resolution not to hear the case, according to CBS News.
During Trump’s first impeachment trial, it was alleged the president abused energy and obstructed a congressional investigation.
Dershowitz was on the president’s legal team throughout the Senate trial the place he mentioned constitutional requirements for impeachment whereas on the Senate flooring.
NCS printed commentary that criticized Dershowitz’s argument, which led to his look on the community to defend himself.
He later filed a $300 million defamation lawsuit, alleging that NCS omitted a part of his remarks and engaged in “a deliberate scheme to defraud its own audience” at his expense.
A Florida court docket sided with NCS and Dershowitz appealed the choice to the Supreme Court.
Lawyers for the information outlet requested the Supreme Court reject the attraction.
