RICHMOND, Va. – Drexel’s Sebastian Smith has been named one of many 19 recipients of the celebrated CAA Leadership and Sport Excellence Award for the 2025-26 educational 12 months. 

The award mimics the Dean Ehlers Leadership Award in males’s and ladies’s basketball. Smith earned a 3.49 GPA whereas majoring in Exercise Science. A member of the Dean’s List and CAA Academic Honor Roll, he was honored as an Academic All-American by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association. Smith is a member of the Drexel SAAC group, a participant within the Dragon Leadership Academy and is a part of the Drexel Athletics DEI board. In the pool, Smith earned six gold medals and a bronze on the CAA Swimming & Diving Championship. He broke a college file within the 100 free and was a part of a CAA all-time file within the 400 free relay. This season, he certified for the NCAA Swimming Championship within the 100 fly. Smith was additionally honored by Drexel Athletics with the establishment’s John Semanik Award, awarded to Drexel’s high male senior student-athletes who greatest exemplify the scholarship and athletic beliefs of the previous Directors of Athletics, Mr. and Mrs. Semanik.
