Rosie O'Donnell predicts Trump won't survive his term in CNN interview

Rosie O’Donnell predicted President Donald Trump “won’t survive that long” when requested if she would make good on her promise to go away the nation till the 2028 election.

The fierce Trump critic made the comment while appearing on NCS’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper” on Friday, the place she stated the president’s “demise is visible” whereas pointing to unsubstantiated claims concerning his well being.

“When you posted about leaving the U.S., you said you might return when, ‘It’s safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America.’ Does that mean that when Trump leaves office, presumably in January 2029, you’ll come back — or it depends on who wins the election in 2028?” Tapper requested.

“Well, I don’t think, Jake, that he is going to survive that long,” O’Donnell stated. “All the medical doctors that you can get accurate opinions of what’s happening to him because his demise is visible and apparent to everyone who is not willfully blind.”

O’Donnell went on to level to an incident earlier this week, in which Trump appeared to consult with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as “Putin” whereas at this week’s NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey.

“I mean, he called Zelenskyy, ‘Putin,’” O’Donnell added. “He makes the kind of mistakes that you would forgive at Thanksgiving dinner, but you would never let grandpa cut the turkey — because it might be dangerous because he doesn’t know what he’s saying.”

Tapper then piled onto O’Donnell’s feedback, referring to feedback made by Trump moments later in which he appeared to name Iran the “Islamic Republic of Japan.”

“Don’t forget to refer to the Islamic Republic of Japan, I think, as well,” Tapper stated.

“Correct,” O’Donnell replied. “I imply, we are able to sit right here and title them. There are so many apparent understandings of his dementia and the way it’s taking up.”

O’Donnell moved to Ireland in January 2025 along with her teenage son after Trump received reelection in 2024, citing the altering political local weather and her longtime feud with the president.

Trump later blasted the comic in two separate Truth Social posts, whereas threatening to revoke her citizenship.

“Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” he wrote in July 2025. “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

He later doubled down on his claims in September 2025, writing, “She is not a Great American and is, in my opinion, incapable of being so!”

In June, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel stated throughout his present that he requested O’Donnell, amongst others, if she would visitor host his present throughout his two-month trip, framing the selection as a “special treat” for Trump.

“I asked one of his all-time favorites — Rosie O’Donnell, to be here to keep the hits coming,” Kimmel stated. O’Donnell will host for every week, starting on August 17, according to Entertainment Weekly
