SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Pool play for the Fastpitch World Midwest Championship wrapped up on Friday throughout Sioux Falls.
The South Dakota Renegades scored early and infrequently in an 8-2 win over the Warehouse Warriors of Wisconsin. Washington’s Maddy Mescher tossed two innings of scoreless softball in reduction for the Renegades to take care of their hefty lead.

The Hot Shots of South Dakota battled back-and-forth with Millard Fury Gold of Nebraska, finally falling 6-5. Izzi Parsons led the Hot Shots with two hits whereas Ayla Kramer led in RBI with two.
Bracket play begins throughout Sioux Falls on Saturday at 11:20 a.m. for brackets A and B.
