A robust earthquake in southern Mexico shook close by international locations Guatemala and El Salvador on Friday, with the US Geological Survey measuring its preliminary magnitude as 7.3.
The earthquake’s epicenter was positioned 48 kilometers southwest of Aquiles Serdán, a city within the Mexican coastal state of Chiapas, based on the USGS.
The quake seems to have brought about average to extreme shaking alongside the coast.
