Mamdani-backed candidates swept on Tuesday. But can they win outside of NYC? His top strategist says yes

Morris Katz, a top adviser to Mayor Zohran Mamdani, joins Dana Bash after three Mamdani-backed challengers gained Democratic House primaries on Tuesday. Asked if the democratic socialist label hurts candidates outside of New York City, Katz mentioned, “candidates and voters have the right to call it by whatever name they seek. But what people are looking for is a different kind of politics.”
