KISS singer and bassist Gene Simmons delivered a message to Americans during an interview with NCS on Sunday.
The 76-12 months-previous rock legend urged Americans to “shut up” and cease worrying about different individuals’s political views during a dialog with Manu Ragu on NCS‘s ‘Inside Politics.’
Gene, together with fellow founding members of KISS, was lately honored by Donald Trump on the 2025 Kennedy Center Honors earlier this month in a ceremony that can be broadcast on CBS and Paramount+ on Tuesday, December 23. The musician has criticized the president in the past, slamming the truth star-turned-politician for his divisive rhetoric.
The rock and roll icon has since modified his tune, now insisting that Americans are too personally invested in politics.
“It’s nobody’s business who you support,” he stated. “Nowadays, people engage in, ‘So are you pro or,’ and my first question is, ‘Who the f–k are you? Who are you?’ Since when does who I support or not support is the business of anyone except my conscience?”

The NCS anchor then requested the rockstar about MAGA Republicans, who faithfully assist the Trump administration.
“Some of it makes sense and some not,” he replied, brazenly questioning why so many individuals care about his political beliefs. “But literally, have a sense of humor. Take a pill, shut up, and stop worrying what your next-door neighbor believes or doesn’t believe. It’s their America too.”

On Saturday, December 6, the Commander-in-Chief hosted the 2025 Kennedy Center honorees within the Oval Office of the White House for a medal presentation ceremony. The president additionally awarded medals to fellow honorees Sylvester Stallone, Gloria Gaynor, George Strait, and Michael Crawford.
Shortly after the ceremony, and after weeks of publicly touting the concept, Trump revealed that he could be formally altering the identify of the Kennedy Center to The Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.
Before being honored by the president, KISS reportedly denied an invite to carry out at Trump’s first inauguration and brazenly criticized the president after he was defeated by Joe Biden in 2020.
Gene instructed Spin in May 2022, “I knew him before he entered politics. Look what that gentleman did to this country and the polarization – got all the cockroaches to rise to the top. Once upon a time, you were embarrassed to be publicly racist and out there with conspiracy theories. Now it’s all out in the open because he allowed it.”
