Easy come, simple go, as one 2025 addition to the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ protection has been tabbed as a possible trade candidate by insider Mark Kaboly.

According to Kaboly, the Steelers could look to trade cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. for a late-round draft decide if third-round rookie Daylen Everette takes the proper steps ahead throughout coaching camp.

“You look at Samuel, depends on what Everette does in training camp,” Kaboly said via 93.7 The Fan. “He could be a guy that you can flip for a pick late in August, last cutdown day.”

Kaboly’s feedback had been additionally echoed by Sports Illustrated’s Jack Markowski, who believes Samuel is the highest trade candidate on Pittsburgh’s roster.

Samuel underwent spinal fusion surgical procedure in April 2025 and was cleared to play soccer a couple of months later in November. He joined the Steelers’ follow squad and was signed to the energetic roster on December 2.
