New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Science and Technology has launched the Phase-III of the Biomedical Research Career Programme (BRCP) with a complete outlay of Rs 1,500 crore to help fellowships and analysis grants.
The Rs 1500 crore corpus contains Rs 1,000 crore from the Department of Biotechnology and Rs 500 crore from London based mostly Wellcome Trust, UK.
Speaking on the launch Dr. Jitendra Singh , Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences mentioned, “biotechnology has moved beyond scientific laboratories and is now influencing economic policy, industrial growth, and is increasingly being recognised as the foundation of the next industrial revolution.”
Phase-III will develop help for excellent researchers throughout completely different profession levels, and speed up the event of diagnostics and healthcare options that handle nationwide priorities whereas enhancing India’s international scientific management, the ministry mentioned.
BRCP was launched in 2008 and has supported greater than 500 researchers, throughout over 200 establishments, and generated globally recognised scientific contributions.
