Inks separate agreements with Postech, KIST to develop new materials, conduct joint research
Seoul — Hwasung has signed separate agreements with Pohang University of Science and Technology (Postech) and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) to strengthen its capabilities in “next-generation materials.”
As a part of the settlement with Postech, the companions will intention to set up an industry-academia cooperation system targeted on “joint research in the field of new materials” and the “joint utilisation of research infrastructure,” stated Hwasung in a latest assertion.
The partnership combines Hwasung’s manufacturing experience with the research capabilities of Postech’s division of materials science and engineering.
“Through cooperation with Postech, we will strengthen our core technology capabilities in the field of new materials and continuously discover innovative technologies applicable to industrial sites,” stated Park Gwi-young, govt vp of Hwasung Corp.
Separately, Hwasung Chemical signed an MOU with KIST’s Jeonbuk department to conduct “joint research” on superior materials for the aerospace sector.
The companions will cooperate on expertise alternate, research infrastructure and personnel exchanges to develop next-generation materials for house and aviation functions.
“We will continue to expand cooperation with various research institutions, including KIST, to secure core technologies and talent that will lead future industries and build an internal and external innovation ecosystem,” stated Hwasung Chemical CEO Lee Jae-wook.
