Gordon Ramsay's 15-minute pasta recipe has become a staple in my household, much to my family's delight.

The dish, which is part of his tagliatelle with sausage Bolognese recipe, requires just a handful of ingredients and can be cooked in under 15 minutes. This simplicity is what makes it so appealing to home cooks like me who are looking for quick yet satisfying meals.

My family's love affair with this pasta dish began when we stumbled upon Gordon Ramsay's Ultimate Cookery Course series, which features 100 essential recipes that the chef demonstrates on screen. The show originally aired in the UK in 2012 and has since become a favorite comfort watch of ours.

One episode caught our attention, and it was then that we discovered Ramsay's tagliatelle with sausage Bolognese recipe. This particular dish became our go-to comfort dinner during the early days of the pandemic.

The reason for its enduring popularity lies in the fact that it is easy to make and requires minimal ingredients. The five main components of this recipe are dried tagliatelle pasta, sausages, tomatoes, half an onion, and a few cloves of garlic.

To start making Gordon Ramsay's 15-minute Bolognese pasta, I chop up some essential ingredients - onions, garlic, and parsley.

The prep time for this dish is remarkably short, taking me around five minutes or less to get everything ready before cooking begins.

While the original recipe doesn't include Italian parsley, I like adding it if I have some on hand as it adds a burst of freshness and color to the dish.

I also dice up some tomatoes - in my case, cocktail tomatoes which provide a nice juiciness to the Bolognese sauce.

The beauty of this recipe is its adaptability to your preferences and what you already have in your kitchen. On this particular night, I used cocktail tomatoes, which add a touch of sweetness and moisture to the sauce.

Before cooking, I also prep the sausage by peeling off the casings and crumbling the meat - Ramsay recommends slicing each sausage down the middle to make this process easier.

Once my pasta is in a pot of salted boiling water, I sauté some onions in a pan until they're softened before adding the rest of the ingredients.

The addition of garlic and parsley is next on the agenda as I prepare Gordon Ramsay's Bolognese pasta recipe. I carefully add the ingredients to the pan where the onions are already softened.

As per Ramsay's advice, I let the garlic and onions "sweat until they're soft" before introducing the meat into the mixture. This step is crucial in developing the flavors of the dish.

I use a spatula to break down the sausage while mixing everything together, ensuring that all the ingredients are well combined. Seasoning with salt and pepper at this stage also enhances the overall flavor profile.

The addition of chopped tomatoes is followed by a can of crushed tomatoes, which I believe helps to create a richer and more textured sauce. This was a modification we made to the recipe after trying it twice without the extra can of tomatoes, and it's since become an integral part of our Bolognese pasta dish.

As the sauce simmers away, I check on the pasta's doneness by catching one of the pappardelle ribbons in a ladle, running it under cold water for a few seconds before biting into it to assess its firmness.

As the sauce simmers away, I add two ladlefuls of pasta water to it, which is a crucial step according to Gordon Ramsay's recipe. The starch from this added pasta water helps thicken the Bolognese sauce and makes it stick better to the noodles.

Once I've done that, I remove the sauce from the heat while my pappardelle continues cooking. After draining the pasta, I throw the cooked noodles into the pan with the sauce and mix everything together thoroughly.

The result is a meaty and rich Bolognese sauce that's perfectly balanced by the flavors of the sausage and other ingredients.
