The Israeli authorities is pushing to expropriate land for archaeological and heritage websites in the occupied West Bank. It would place websites relationship again 1000’s of years beneath Israeli management — together with Sebastia, enmeshed in the cloth of its eponymous Palestinian village. Israeli archaeologists and Palestinian residents are attempting to get Sebastia acknowledged as a UNESCO heritage website, hoping the designation will provide safety. NCS’s Jeremy Diamond stories.
