WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congresswoman Luz Rivas (CA-29) – co-chair of the STEM Education Caucus and the one Latina in Congress with a background in science, know-how, engineering, and arithmetic (STEM) – offered over $1,000,000 in federal funding to California State University, Northridge (CSUN). These funds will help the acquisition of computer systems, newest know-how, and analysis gear for the Autodesk Technology Engagement Center.

Background:
Congresswoman Rivas secured $1,039,000 in federal funding for Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) for CSUN to fill the Autodesk Technology Engagement Center with new computer systems, know-how, and analysis gear for its makerspace, STEM studying labs, and pupil success facilities. This venture will enhance entry to state-of-the-art know-how for Okay-12 college students and encourage STEM Pathways for these in the San Fernando Valley.
Congresswoman Rivas beforehand secured $25,000,000 throughout her time in the California State Assembly for the CSUN Autodesk Technology Engagement Center.
The CSUN Autodesk Technology Engagement Center opened in summer season of 2025 and homes a part of the Anagnost College of Engineering and Computer Science, which is among the many largest in the nation with greater than 5,600 college students. The Center is devoted to bridging the fairness hole in STEM training and getting ready college students from numerous communities for careers in innovation.
This is funding is a part of the almost $15 million in federal funding Congresswoman Rivas secured for California’s twenty ninth Congressional District in FY26.
