The software program stack is now China’s compute bottleneck – not the chips. China unveiled Yisuanfangzhou (“Computing Universe”), a platform for migrating CUDA-dependent scientific and AI/ML code to domestic chips, developed collectively by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the University of Science and Technology of China, and Sugon. Its core CUDA translation engine, BoundX, reduces migration time from roughly 10 hours to half-hour per codebase, with a 71% automated conversion charge – over 20 share factors above different domestic instruments. For AI/ML practitioners utilizing Chinese HPC infrastructure, this platform immediately reduces the software program integration barrier that has restricted workload adoption even after China’s {hardware} advances.
