Leading Russian chemist and supplies scientist Artem Oganov, who obtained China’s top worldwide science and know-how award, stated the honour from the world’s No 1 science energy was an indication he was “on the right track”.
Oganov, a distinguished professor on the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Moscow and long-time China collaborator, and eight different specialists have been awarded the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award by Chinese President Xi Jinping throughout a ceremony in Beijing final week.
After Oganov visited China in 2008, he instructed colleagues and associates in Europe that the nation was “on the way” to being No 1 in each trade and science, however stated this was met with scepticism on the time.
He instructed the South China Morning Post on Monday that, 18 years on, “China is No 1 – in industry, in economy, and indeed also in science.”
Noting that America was once the top scientific energy, he pointed to the truth that China now accounts for a 3rd of worldwide scientific publications, including that it was not simply numbers, however “quality”.
