Can a Democrat buck history and win a Mississippi Senate seat for the first time in 44 years?

Democrat Steve Colom says he has the proper message at the proper time to win a Senate seat in certainly one of the reddest states in the nation. He says its all about “centering the voters,” particularly rural voters, and that the nationwide Democratic Party has “forgotten Democrats in Mississippi for a long time.”
