He was talking after inaugurating a nationwide seminar on ‘Biotechnology and Sustainable Development Goals’ organised by the Department of Biotechnology, Gulbarga University, as a part of its silver jubilee celebrations at Bose Hall of the Department of Botany.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Rajasab stated restoration and conservation of plant and animal assets needs to be a precedence if the world is to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations. He noticed that rising applied sciences resembling CRISPR-DNA expertise and synthetic intelligence had opened new avenues for scientific development and, if utilised successfully, may considerably speed up progress in the sector of organic sciences.

He stated scientific pondering and technological innovation in life sciences had the potential to remodel seemingly unimaginable targets into actuality. Recalling his lengthy affiliation with the Department of Biotechnology, he stated the division had nurtured his educational journey from lecturer to Vice-Chancellor and later to the place of president of the Karnataka State Science and Technology Academy.

“The department has grown remarkably over the years. Memories of the numerous seminars, conferences, and academic programmes organised here remain fresh in my mind. I remain grateful to the university for shaping my career,” he stated.

Speaking because the chief visitor, Gulbarga University Vice-Chancellor Shashikant S. Udikeri stated the silver jubilee celebrations of the Department of Biotechnology, coupled with the participation of students and alumni, marked a important milestone for the establishment.
