A major acquisition in the influencer marketing industry has sparked speculation that business-to-business (B2B) influencer marketing is poised for significant growth.

The deal involves Billion Dollar Boy Group, a social and influencer marketing company, acquiring Creator Authority, a B2B influencer marketing agency that connects brands with content creators. The firm provides services such as contract management, licensing, and campaign management to facilitate partnerships between businesses and influencers.

The companies involved in the deal declined to disclose specific financial terms, but confirmed it was an all-cash transaction worth millions of dollars, with an earnout component.

Following the acquisition, Billion Dollar Boy Group has forecast its revenue for 2027 will exceed $100 million. The company's global revenue has grown by 24% over the past year, according to recent reports.

The pace of deal-making in the creator economy has picked up significantly, with a notable increase in mergers and acquisitions transactions over the past year.

Quartermast Advisors reports that there were 70 such transactions in the first half of 2026 alone, with this number expected to continue growing as more companies seek to capitalize on emerging trends. This acceleration in deal-making is being driven by agencies looking to expand their services into new areas and capitalize on the growth of creator marketing.

BDB Group's acquisition of Creator Authority marks a significant milestone in this trend, marking its first-ever purchase. This move reflects a broader shift as agencies that traditionally focused on consumer-facing brands seek to tap into the growing demand for B2B creator marketing.

According to a recent survey commissioned by BDB Group and conducted by Censuswide, 20% of marketing decision-makers in the US and UK invested in B2B creator marketing last year. The industries most likely to invest in this type of marketing were architecture, engineering, and building, manufacturing and utilities, and retail, catering, and leisure.

The acquisition is expected to boost the company's influencer marketing efforts, particularly in emerging channels such as creator marketing for B2B brands.

To achieve this goal, the company has been investing in various initiatives, including the launch of a creator marketplace that allows advertisers to find relevant creators and audiences.

This platform will be enhanced by the integration with Creator Authority's existing BrandLink program, which already enables publishers and creators to share in ad revenue generated from their videos.

The expanded team is expected to increase global presence, with new bases established in New York and London.
