ASU is nationally acknowledged in grid resilience research, and the undertaking brings collectively leaders in AI, power programs and engineering. The crew will work with grid operator companions to develop sensible instruments that maximize worth. 

The research crew contains co-principal investigators Julia Szinai from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory; Casey Burleyson from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory; Renee Obringer and Mort Webster from Pennsylvania State University; and Patricia Hidalgo-Gonzalez from the University of California, San Diego.

The historic Genesis Mission united the 17 DOE nationwide laboratories with trade, academia and nonprofit group companions. Together, they’re collaborating to harness AI to rework discovery and strengthen American management in science and know-how.
