GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) — For new Green Bay YMCA Swim Team head coach Alec Jeffers, the journey to main this system feels just like the pure subsequent step in a lifetime spent across the pool.

Jeffers, a Bay Port High School graduate and former standout swimmer at UW-Stevens Point, was launched to the game at a younger age by his father, Steve, who spent years teaching the Bay Port High School swim group.

“When I was coaching high school, when he was probably 10 or 12 years old, he was always by my side,” Steve Jeffers stated. “He always wanted to help with lineups and matchups against other teams.”

After graduating, Alec started exploring teaching alternatives, rapidly realizing he had a ardour for serving to younger athletes develop each out and in of the pool.

“I really like trying to see kids reach their full potential,” Alec Jeffers stated. “And the joy that it brings when they eventually do.”
