High faculty college students from Suva have been inspired and empowered on the University of the South Pacific’s Global Women’s Breakfast 2026 occasion encouraging younger ladies to pursue careers in science and technology and imagine of their potential to shape Fiji’s future.

The initiative varieties a part of a world celebration hosted by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry to recognise the achievements of girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, whereas encouraging the subsequent technology to take up STEM topics and pursue careers in these essential fields.

Jessica Rohindra, a Bachelor of Science pupil majoring in Physics and Chemistry at USP, says she was honoured to be a part of the Global Women’s Breakfast 2026 hosted on the Laucala Campus.

She encourages girls to imagine that their curiosity and ardour can take them wherever, stressing that ladies belong in STEM and have the ability to shape the future of science and technology within the Pacific.

Rohindra provides that initiatives such because the Global Women’s Breakfast present mentorship and assist, emphasising the necessity for extra alternatives and stronger networks so ladies can contribute to innovation and options for Fiji and the broader Pacific.

Also sharing her journey was Adi Rotuisolia, a fourth-year Bachelor of Networks and Security pupil, who mentioned her ardour for cybersecurity was pushed by the rising want to defend digital programs throughout the Pacific.

She says she selected Networks and Security as a result of technology is turning into a part of each business and defending data is more and more necessary, including that she hopes to strengthen cybersecurity programs in Fiji and the broader Pacific as digital infrastructure expands.

Rotuisolia shares that though transitioning from highschool to college was difficult at first, with assist from her household, lecturers and pals she gained confidence in her talents.
