WWE Crown Jewel event set for third annual installment in Riyadh
Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn are among the top contenders vying for the coveted title at this year's WWE Crown Jewel event, which will feature world champions from Raw and SmackDown facing off against each other.
The highly anticipated WWE Crown Jewel event is set to take place in Riyadh for its third annual installment. This year's edition will feature world champions from Raw and SmackDown facing off against each other in a battle for supremacy.
Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, Liv Morgan, and Chelsea Green are among the top contenders vying for the coveted title. The history between Reigns and Zayn is well-documented, with their complicated past still simmering beneath the surface.
Their on-screen dynamics have been nothing short of intense, with a particularly memorable encounter in Montreal where Zayn pulled off an incredible underdog performance against "The Tribal Chief." This has set the stage for what promises to be an epic showdown between the two.
Meanwhile, Chelsea Green's path to Crown Jewel was not without its challenges. She secured her spot after defeating Nikki Bella, while Liv Morgan also earned a spot with a strong performance. Morgan now seeks to make history as the only Champion to win twice at Crown Jewel.
The stage is set for some intense battles at this year's WWE Crown Jewel event. Two notable matches are expected to take place on Saturday, including a Last Man Standing match between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton that promises to be a culmination of their long-running feud.
The tag team titles will be defended for the first time at Crown Jewel as The Vision - Bron Breakker and Austin Theory take on Penta and Je'Von Evans in a high-stakes match.
Penta's presence in this contest is particularly intriguing given that he currently holds the Money in the Bank briefcase. This could set up an interesting dynamic, potentially influencing the outcome of the main event later in the night.
The confirmed matches for Crown Jewel are now available to view, with the event streaming live on ESPN Unlimited and the main card scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. ET.
Roman Reigns will defend his championship against Sami Zayn in a highly anticipated bout, with Zayn expected to receive a hero's welcome in Riyadh. This marks the second time these two have faced off in Saudi Arabia, following their intense match in Montreal in 2023.
The Women's Crown Jewel Championship is also up for grabs as Liv Morgan faces off against either Chelsea Green or Nikki Bella. With no champion having successfully defended their title twice, Morgan has a chance to make history by becoming the first woman to achieve this feat.
The WWE Crown Jewel 2026 card has been finalized, featuring a Last Man Standing match between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. This long-standing feud dates back to their time in The Legacy, where they played mentor and pupil roles. Their rivalry reached a boiling point at WrestleMania this year, but injuries sustained by both men only prolonged the conflict.
In another highly anticipated bout, The Vision (Bron Breakker and Austin Theory), the current World Tag Team champions, will defend their titles against Penta and Je'Von Evans. Penta's victory in the Money in the Bank match has fueled his ambitions to capture world championships, but he is also eager to collect other gold. The Vision intervened in Evans' failed bid for Zayn's undisputed title and attacked Penta as well.
Their actions have not gone unnoticed, however, as Penta and Evans successfully petitioned Raw general manager Adam Pearce for a title shot against The Vision. This opportunity has left the fan favorites feeling revitalized and ready to take on their opponents in what promises to be an intense tag team championship match.
