All Serie A players will likely be wearing a splash of red face paint on their cheeks in the course of the twelfth spherical of league fixtures happening this weekend to boost consciousness for the ‘Un Rosso alla Violenza (‘a red to violence’) marketing campaign.

Serie A continues red face paint marketing campaign

This is the ninth season that Serie A has supported the marketing campaign, which goals to boost consciousness surrounding bodily and psychological abuse in direction of girls in Italy.

According to statistics offered by the Lega Serie A, 7 million girls in Italy, roughly one in three, have suffered some type of harassment or violence in their lives.

Last 12 months, 111 girls had been murdered in Italy and 96 of these had been by the hands of members of the family or family members. 73 girls had been murdered in Italy in the primary 9 months of 2025, and 60 of these had been by members of the family or family members.

“Serie A renews its commitment to supporting female victims of violence and once again stands by their side to combat all forms of violence and abuse towards women,” Serie A President Ezio Simonelli stated in a statement.

“The red mark that will be painted on the players’ and referees’ faces is not just a symbol, but testifies the league’s desire to keep the focus on an unacceptable phenomenon in today’s society.”
