A strong earthquake struck close to the northern coast of Venezuela on Wednesday, resulting in collapsed buildings in the capital, Caracas. The quake had a preliminary magnitude of seven.5, in accordance with the US Geological Survey (USGS). It occurred simply 40 seconds after a foreshock with a magnitude of seven.2 rocked the space.
