Following a quiet Monday, this week’s WPIAL baseball part sequence start on a cold Tuesday.
Two groups in Section 2-6A are coming off three-game sweeps final week.
One group was dominant whereas the opposite squeezed three straight victories from a longtime rival.
Now Canon-McMillan and Norwin are set to start a three-game sequence this week to decide first place in the part.
The Big Macs are undefeated this season with an 8-0 total document.
Last week, Canon-McMillan rolled previous Woodland Hills in three video games by a mixed rating of 36-6.
It was not as simple for the Knights, who enter this week with a document of 5-1.
Every week in the past, Norwin edged Hempfield in three video games by a mixed 5 runs, profitable by scores of 6-5, 6-3 and 3-2.
A yr in the past, the Big Macs received the part crown, ending one recreation in entrance of the Knights.
Norwin did win the part sequence in opposition to Canon-McMillan, taking two of the three video games.
In the 2025 Class 6A playoffs, each groups misplaced to eventual champion Seneca Valley. The Big Macs misplaced in the semifinals, 4-0, whereas the Knights fell in the district finals to the Raiders, 1-0.

The present WPIAL baseball champions in Class 4A, 3A and 2A will start key part sequence with first place up for grabs.
Reigning district and state Class 4A champion Indiana visits Derry on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
The Little Indians are 2-0 in Section 3-4A and 4-0 this season. The Trojans are one recreation again at 1-1 in the part and 4-3 total.
In Section 1-3A, defending WPIAL and PIAA champ Riverside hits the street to go to Mohawk at 4:30 p.m.
The Panthers are 1-1 in the part after splitting final week with Ellwood City, and they’re 2-4 this season. The Warriors are 1-0 in the part and an ideal 4-0 on the season.
In Section 2-2A, 2025 2A winner Freedom hosts Neshannock at 4 p.m.
The Bulldogs are 4-0 atop the part and 4-2 this season with 4 straight wins. The Lancers are 5-1 total and 1-1 in the part after splitting final week in opposition to Laurel.
6A softball showdown
The prime three district softball groups in Class 6A have a mixed document of 15-2 total.
Two of them collide Tuesday.
Once-beaten Seneca Valley will host undefeated Canon-McMillan at 4 p.m.
The 2025 runner-up Raiders are 3-1 in 6A and 5-1 for the season.
Seneca Valley had a four-game profitable stream finish in a loss final week to Hempfield, 5-2.
The Big Macs have received all 5 of their recreation this season, together with their first 4 6A contests.
Canon-McMillan has outscored its 5 opponents this season, 51-16.
