WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW remained in rivalry for a Coastal Athletic Association event berth with a 3-1 win (25-20, 19-25, 25-18, 25-18) over William & Mary on Saturday at Hanover Hall.
The win lifted UNCW to a mark of 3-9 within the league and 4-18 general. The Tribe dropped again to 4-8 in convention play and 9-14 on the season.
Avery Markham led UNCW with 12 kills and Hannah Forbes added 11. Lilly Sullivan collected eight kills in 13 swings with no hitting errors (.818 hitting common) and added 5 complete blocks.
Marnie Ursem joined Sullivan on the internet with 5 kills and eight complete blocks. UNCW out-blocked the Tribe, 13-6.
W&M landed three in double-digit kills, with Aubrey Brcka’s 13 being a match excessive. Nicole Smith and Katherine Arnason joined her with 12 and 11, respectively.
The Seahawks opened the match by hitting .455 within the first set with 18 kills and simply three errors in 33 assaults. The hitting continued within the third set with 13 kills and an error in 25 makes an attempt.
The Seahawks go to Elon subsequent weekend for his or her last highway sequence of the season. The sequence opens at 7 p.m. on Nov. 8.
