US forces have launched search and rescue efforts, the sources mentioned. Potential rescue efforts seemed to be captured in video posted to social media and geolocated by NCS.

The state-run Tasnim company mentioned that the seek for any lacking crew had “so far been unsuccessful.” Separately, on Fars News, an anchor mentioned a reward was being provided for anybody capturing an “enemy pilot or pilots.”

It wasn’t instantly clear the place in Iran the jet went down. The US navy and the White House haven’t commented on the scenario or the standing of the pilots.

Video geolocated by NCS confirmed a number of low flying navy plane over Khuzestan Province in central Iran.

In the video, one airplane may be seen flying low over the bottom whereas two helicopters observe intently behind – a formation that’s in keeping with an air-to-air refueling operation. The video was taken on a bridge over the Karoon river, which is round 470 km south of Tehran.

The incident would mark the primary time a US plane has been shot down over Iran in the course of the battle. Near the start of the struggle, three F-15s have been mistakenly shot down in a pleasant fireplace incident by Kuwaiti air defenses.
