Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (Unist) held its first overseas alumni gathering, titled International Alumni Day, on Saturday in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The occasion, Unist’s inaugural alumni gathering overseas, invited graduates from the Central Asia area, together with key figures corresponding to Ha Tae-wook, consul normal of Korea in Almaty, representatives from Satbayev University and Suleyman Demirel University, and different native authorities and tutorial leaders.
According to Unist, 43 p.c of its 670 worldwide alumni are from 5 Central Asian international locations: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
During the occasion, the college appointed world alumni ambassadors who will lead alumni networks and function bridges connecting native communities with the college.
“This event marks the first step toward our goal of connecting alumni who are expanding their presence on the global stage,” stated Bae Sung-chul, vice chairman for tutorial affairs at Unist.
“Unist aims to build a ‘Silk Road’ of cooperative networks around the world, including in Central Asia, that will advance science and technology.”
