The Netzah Yehuda battalion had beforehand been stated to have been suspended by IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir on Sunday, following an altercation between reservist troopers and NCS reporters.
The 914th Netzah Yehuda reservist battalion was not suspended, Yossi Levi, CEO of the Netzah Yehuda group, introduced on Tuesday, citing latest reports on the contrary.
The battalion had beforehand been stated to have been suspended by IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir on Sunday, following an altercation between reservist soldiers and NCS reporters in a West Bank city.
Leaked stories had indicated that the battalion can be suspended till it had undergone “a process aimed at reinforcing its professional and ethical foundations.” However, Levi said, this was not the precise determination made by Zamir.
“The incident with the NCS reporters, which caused international reverberations, led to the Chief of Staff’s decision to remove the battalion from the sector and allow the battalion to undergo pre-employment training, including moral and professional preparation,” Levi stated, “After which the battalion will return even better than before, along with being a reserve battalion for any volatile events in the Judea and Samaria Division.”
Notably, Levi’s place as CEO of the Netzah Yehuda group is not an official navy place, seeing because the group is separate from the official battalion.

Levi emphasised that Zamir had instructed him that the battalion was “an excellent and leading battalion in the IDF,” and in addition cited the Commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Brig.-Gen. Kobi Heller, as lauding the Netzah Yehuda battalion for its nice achievements.
“The event, its results, and the numerous publications, constitute an unimaginable challenge for an outstanding battalion commander whose entire actions and purpose are to defeat the many enemies,” Levi said.
IDF troopers detain NCS journalists in West Bank
Rumors of the battalion’s suspension got here after troopers approached a NCS news team on Friday throughout an interview with Palestinian residents of the West Bank city of Nablus, telling each the NCS reporters and Palestinians to cease talking.
In a video launched by NCS, the IDF troopers method with weapons pointed instantly on the information group, telling the crew to get down. Shortly after, the digicam footage grew shaky when, based on NCS, their photojournalist was put in a chokehold.
NCS reported that the crew’s detention lasted two hours. Their Palestinian interview topics had been detained alongside them.
