Uber is tackling a brand new type of journey sharing: helicopters.
The journey hailing firm on Wednesday mentioned it is going to launch Blade helicopter rides on its app as quickly as 2026 through its partnership with Joby Aviation, an electrical air taxi maker.
The announcement comes after Joby in August closed its $125 million acquisition of Blade, a helicopter and air transportation firm. The deal didn’t embrace the corporate’s medical organ transplant division. Blade has mentioned it chartered at the very least 50,000 passengers final 12 months from 12 city terminals.
