President Donald Trump says he will call a national emergency as soon as again in Washington, DC, if native police don’t cooperate with immigration enforcement.

The president stated in a Truth Social post in a single day that the transfer had decreased crime in the district however that if native police don’t cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, crime would rise again.

His feedback come after the national emergency and federal takeover he declared in August expired final week. While crime has decreased in Washington, DC, beneath the federal emergency, it’s not true that there’s “no crime,” as Trump has usually repeated.

Trump’s newest publish marks a change in tone from his earlier feedback made about Bowser, who he has praised in latest weeks for her cooperation with federal authorities.
