INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) – The Harry S. Truman Presidential Library & Museum opens a brand new exhibition on April 1, celebrating the Truman household’s and Kansas City’s connection to sports.

The “United We Play: Kicking It With the Trumans” exhibit options not often seen memorabilia, artifacts and images tied to Kansas City groups, together with the Chiefs, Monarchs, Blues, A’s, Royals, Sporting KC and KC Current.

“This original exhibition will engage both Kansas Citians and people from around the world visiting for the FIFA World Cup matches,” mentioned Mark Adams, director of the Truman Library.

Some highlights embody a George Brett commemorative bat given to President Ronald Reagan, the ball and glove President Truman used to inaugurate the Kansas City A’s, Chiefs proprietor Lamar Hunt’s ticket to the primary recreation at Arrowhead Stadium, and Bess Wallace Truman’s ice skates.

The exhibit opens on April 1. The museum’s hours are Monday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., and Sunday, midday–5 p.m.

Admission is $12, with reductions for seniors, college students and veterans, and is free for library members and kids 12 and youthful.
