PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Former Florida soccer standout Trey Burton was inducted into the Florida Sports Hall of Fame as half of the 2025 class in a ceremony to be held on the Bradenton Area Convention Center on Wednesday evening.
 
The Gators now have 50 members represented within the Florida Sports Hall of Fame.
 
Burton was joined within the 2025 class together with Lonni Alameda, Mike Alstott, Ricky Carmichael, Jim Leyland, Clyde Metcalf and Dave Willis.
 
Born in Venice, Burton attended Venice High School the place he was a standout dual-threat quarterback for the Venice Indians. He acquired a scholarship to attend the University of Florida, the place he performed for coach Urban Meyer’s and Will Muschamp’s Florida Gators soccer groups from 2010 to 2013.
