SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – San José State men’s basketball head coach Tim Miles will be inducted into the South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2026. Miles will be officially inducted on Sept. 13, 2026 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

The South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame, established in 1968 by the South Dakota Sportswriters Association, recognizes coaches and athletes from the state of South Dakota. 

Miles, a native of Doland, South Dakota, has built one of the most respected coaching careers in college basketball. He is the only active coach to lead teams to postseason play at the NAIA, NCAA Division II, and NCAA Division I levels. Miles began his head coaching career at Mayville State before spending time at Southwest Minnesota State, North Dakota State, Colorado State, Nebraska and currently at San José State. He has been inducted into multiple halls of fame, including those at the University of Mary, Northern State, Mayville State and Southwest Minnesota State.

Miles, the 2023 Mountain West Coach of the Year, just wrapped up his fifth season at the helm of the Spartans, winning a Mountain West Tournament game for the third time in four seasons. The full release can be found here.
