Thom Tillis agrees to move forward with Fed nomination

Republican Senator Thom Tillis, who sits on the banking committee that approves Federal Reserve nominees, mentioned Sunday that he’ll help Kevin Warsh’s appointment as the subsequent Fed chair after blocking affirmation votes.

“I am prepared to move on with the confirmation of Mr. Warsh. I think he’s going to be a great Fed Chair,” Tillis mentioned on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Tillis has blocked a vote to move forward with Warsh’s nomination due to the Justice Department’s probe of Chair Jerome Powell, whose time period ends on May 15. The probe was dropped on Friday.

This is a growing story and will probably be up to date.
