The World Design Organization has designated Frankfurt the 2026 World Design Capital, additional thrusting it into the worldwide zeitgeist. What’s extra, the town has a graceful new lodge catering to vacationers who’re right here for pleasure greater than enterprise. Opened in December 2025, The Florentin, half of the Althoff Collection, is a 147-key boutique housed partially inside a grand villa that dates again to 1901. The interiors are all about understated textural magnificence (suppose hand-finished chestnut and oak, bronze detailing, and custom-crafted lighting fixtures with silk shades). Inside the villa itself are 9 gorgeously appointed suites, every paying homage to a unique piece of German history. There’s The Explorer, which nods to Frankfurt-born cartographer Ernst Georg Ravenstein, and The Jazz Musician, a tribute to bassist Günter Lenz. Capping all of it off are a dreamy spa and a restaurant helmed by wunderkind Niclas Nussbaumer, who, on the age of 29 turned one of the youngest cooks ever to attain two Michelin stars.

“Close the laptop and enjoy life” is the message—an more and more attractive proposition in the brand new Frankfurt.
