The National Science and Technology Research Association announced on the 8th that it appointed Ko Sung-kyu, a professor of Korean medication at Kyung Hee University, as the president of the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine at the 240th extraordinary board assembly held on the 8th. The time period of workplace is three years from the ninth.

Ko Sung-kyu, the new president, obtained a bachelor’s diploma in oriental medication in 1991 from Kyung Hee University, a grasp’s diploma in oriental medication in 1993, a health care provider in oriental medication in 1998 and a health care provider of medication in 2009 from Seoul National University.

Since he was appointed to Kyung Hee University in 2005, he has served as the dean of the College of Oriental Medicine. He additionally served as the vice chairman of the Korean Medical Association, the chairman of the National New Drug Development Foundation, and an advisor to the National Planning Committee.

Lee Jin-yong, former president of the Institute of Oriental Medicine, had his time period expired in April 2024. About two years after its expiration, a brand new director was appointed.
