Thai prosecutors on Thursday indicted 23 suspects together with a building tycoon and a Chinese state-owned agency for violations that led to the collapse of a building throughout a strong earthquake, killing almost 100 employees.
The partially constructed 30-story State Audit Office tower in Bangkok was the one building to collapse from tremors emanating from the highly effective 7.7 magnitude quake in neighboring Myanmar on March 28. At least 95 folks have been killed within the incident.
The building of the State Audit Office building was a three way partnership between Italian-Thai Development, one among Thailand’s largest building firms, and China Railway Number 10 (Thailand) Ltd, an area unit of China’s state-owned China Railway Group.
Premchai Karnasuta, president of Italian-Thai and an government of China Railway Number 10 (Thailand) Ltd, was formally charged together with 21 different suspects for breaching building laws and inflicting dying by means of negligence, stated Sakkasem Nisaiyok, a spokesman for the Office of the Attorney General, in an announcement on Thursday.
