Signing ceremony between Tata Steel and USTB

Tata Steel has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) to collaborate on the event of low-carbon steelmaking applied sciences, reinforcing the Company’s dedication to advancing sustainable metal manufacturing.

As a part of the MoU, the analysis groups from Tata Steel, Tata Steel Research and Innovation Limited and USTB will collectively undertake analysis throughout 4 broad themes addressing low-carbon steelmaking: scrap-based mostly steelmaking, metal waste valorisation, finish-product efficiency, and carbon seize & utilisation applied sciences.

The collaboration will leverage USTB’s educational experience alongside with its experimental and pilot-scale services, enabling promising applied sciences to be examined, piloted and probably scaled up for industrial software.
