Tanzania's Serengeti National Park to Get New Luxury Safari Camp
Marriott is opening its latest luxury travel experience in Tanzania's Serengeti National Park with the Mereshi Safari Camp Serengeti, Autograph Collection.

Marriott has announced plans to open its latest safari camp in Tanzania's Serengeti National Park, marking another addition to its portfolio of luxury travel experiences.
The new Mereshi Safari Camp Serengeti, Autograph Collection is set to debut in November and will be situated on the traditional land of the Ikoma people. The camp's location offers easy access to the Fort Ikoma airstrip, allowing guests to quickly arrive at their destination and begin exploring the surrounding wilderness.
Guests will have ample opportunities to take part in daily game drives into the Serengeti National Park, where they can witness an incredible array of wildlife. This is a major draw for visitors to the area, who come to marvel at the park's majestic lions, elephants, and other iconic species.
The camp itself boasts 18 tented suites, each providing 775 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space. Constructed from natural materials such as timber, stone, and canvas, the tents are tastefully decorated with local crafts and textiles, while private east-facing decks offer prime views of the sunrise.
Each suite features a spacious interior with comfortable seating areas, along with sumptuous beds and refreshing outdoor showers that allow guests to connect with nature.
The main lodge of Marriott's new safari camp is designed by Dunia Designs, a firm based in Arusha, Tanzania. The design takes inspiration from indigenous acacia trees and will feature a bar, shared lounging and dining spaces, as well as a private boma for firelit dinners under the stars.
A deck overlooking a water feature is also part of the lodge's amenities, along with a small spa, pool, and fitness center. Guests can browse the curio shop for souvenirs or relax in the shared spaces. The focus on natural surroundings continues at the lodge's main restaurant, Mila.
Mila will be an indoor-outdoor space that keeps guests connected to nature while serving breakfast after morning drives, family-style lunches, and leisurely dinners after dusk game drives. This blend of outdoor activities and comfortable dining makes for a unique experience at the new Marriott safari camp.
Nightly rates at the camp start at $1,967 based on double occupancy, but bookings are currently open for January 4, 2027, onward. The hotel is listed as opening in November 2027, with award redemption rates not yet published. However, those familiar with Marriott's sister property, Mapito, can expect similar redemption rates to apply.
Guests at the safari camp will enjoy a range of included amenities, such as two shared game drives and guided walks per day, along with refreshments. All meals, select beverages, return transfers from nearby airstrips, and complimentary laundry and Wi-Fi are also part of the nightly rate.
Marriott has been expanding its safari offerings in Africa since 2023, when it opened the JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge.
The company has since introduced several other camps, including the Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara, Kinara, A Luxury Collection Safari Camp, and Mapito Safari Camp. It also recently unveiled the JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp, which was one of the most highly anticipated hotel openings of 2026.
To celebrate its latest addition in Tanzania's Serengeti, Mereshi is offering a special promotion from January 4 to March 27. Bookers who use the code S2449 can earn 25,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points on eligible reservations, making it an attractive opportunity for travelers looking to redeem their points for a unique safari experience.
