DOST launches Handa, data-driven early disaster awareness and preparedness platform WATCH: Science Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. introduces Handa, a digital tool developed by the Department of Science and Technology through Phivolcs, following a directive from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to create a central platform for early disaster awareness and preparation. The newly launched site features near real-time hazard tracking, risk assessment, location-based alerts, and AI-powered tools. It also allows users to report incidents such as flooding, fires, road accidents, and other on-the-ground emergencies to support faster coordination among agencies and stakeholders.
