Suspicious package sends three Springfield schools into lockdown

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – Three Springfield schools went into a quick lockdown immediately after a hoax menace was made within the space.

Putnam Academy, STEM Middle Academy, and The High School of Science and Technology went into a fringe lockdown for about 10 minutes Thursday afternoon — in keeping with Springfield Public Schools officers.

Western Mass News drove by Putnam Academy round 1:30 p.m. that day and noticed what appeared like a dozen police cruisers patrolling the world. Springfield Fire officers stated they had been alerted to a suspicious package — nevertheless it was deemed to be not harmful.
